Windows 8 hate

So Windows 8 is still out there, we’ve got 8.1 on the way with many new features (mostly techy/business oriented), and people are still raging on this interface.

I find it rather useful. But I welcome change and new things.
I use the Start Screen apps all the time for email notifications, calendar, Twitter, weather, etc.
Now I don’t need to jump to several sites for this information, I don’t need to open Outlook several times a day. It’s all right there when I start up my PC.

I’ve found all my previous programs and games work just fine, but that’s to be expected when the back-end is essentially Windows 7 with several tweaks here and there.
I can almost swear a few things here and there are slightly faster.

While it is designed for touch I have no issues navigating by keyboard and mouse.
I have all the shortcuts I need on my Start Screen, and it goes beyond the borders of my monitor, but the rest is just a quick scroll wheel flick away.

So before you judge it without even trying it, take it for a spin.
And don’t ask the people who fight it just because it’s different, they’ll never like it even if it would be better for them.
